My other passion is the wonderful world of wigs and hair in theatre. In 2022 I started off as an immediate replacement for the Wig and Makeup Supervisor at the Mac-Haydn Theatre, where I had held a different position at the time. Under the mentorship of Caitlin Maxwell, she taught me the very basics of maintaining and running a solo track for the show. Once I tried it out, I never looked back!​

 

After that, I spent the fall and winter practicing and learning more about the craft. I was given the opportunity to return to the Mac-Haydn Theatre the summer of 2023 as the Wig Designer as well as supervisor. I was able to work through a variety of shows and learning the full process of designing, maintaining and closing a show. I've also had the pleasure to learn is wig ventilation. I had the greatest opportunity to work and train with the wonderful people in the 30 Rock Wig Shop. I got to work along side some of the best who make the works of art seen on SNL and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.​

After college graduation, I decided to go back to school but in a different fashion. I went to cosmetology school at Arrojo Academy where I was able to learn new skills I had yet to tap into. I was able to learn and grow in skills I already knew such as styling and composition but also start learning haircutting and coloring. Now, I am able to cut hair using both scissor and razor techniques. Oddly enough, I also became quite proficient in coloring hair. From single processes, highlighting, and balayage I am able to not only map out a process but formulate the color as well.  

 

I've just started this journey in this craft and I can't wait to learn and grow and take all the opportunities head on!
