About Me
My name is Emily Grace Allen and I'm originally from upstate NY in a little town outside of Albany, but now live in NYC. I've been involved in theatre ever since I was six years old! Since then, I have continued to grow and train in all the great aspects of theatre!
I graduated from Marymount Manhattan College where I received my BFA in Musical Theatre. Though I have always been a performer at heart, I have also done extensive work off the stage. I have done training in every department and have worked on many shows as a crew member. One department in particular I love is the wig department. This love has turned into a passion and has led me to pursue designing wigs and a career and cosmetology.
As of spring 2025, I am offically a licensed cosmetologist. Immediately out of cosmoetology school, I hit the road. I started working as the Head of Hair and Makeup for The Book Of Mormon National Tour! While on the road I also work on the world premiere of Beehive The 70s Musical as the wig designer.

World Premiere! Beehive: The 70s Musical
Working on a new work at one of my favorite theatres. TRW came to my home town the premiere their new show at the Mac-Haydn Theatre. I had the pleasure to design the wigs for this amazing cast.
Desinging for a new work was a challenge but was so much fun. I learned so much about the creative process and was also able to explore my voice as a designer.

This show is a big one for me. I got the opportunity to not only continue designing the hair and makeup but also be onstage as well. It is never an easy task but I say it was a smash hit just look at the reviews.

Throwback to the 70's - We open Sister Act!
Got the try something new by goign back to the 70's. Although the company is in nun habits for most of the show, it was nice to get back into quick change mode and have some fun!

A successful opening to the 2024 season at the Mac-Haydn Theatre! Starting with a highly active show with specific styling of the 1950s. Staying true to the era and focusing on flattering styles for each actor. I had such a blast with this one and can't wait for the rest of the shows!
Heading Over to the Mac-Haydn Theatre for the Summer!
I can't wait to return to The Mac-Haydn Theatre for another great summer. This summer I'm returning as the Wig and Make-up Designer and Supervisor for the second year in a row. I get the opportunity to design all six shows this season. In addition to designing, I'm also joining onstage in the ensemble of Rent. I will also be the standby for Luisa in The Fantasticks.
Finishing Up College by Directing A Dance Cabaret!
As a member of the Musical Theatre Association at my college, I co-directedand choreographed a Dance Cabaret. Wanting to give my peers the opportunity to have fun and dance while reimagining iconic dances from Broadways past. You can watch the full thing on Intsgram @mmcmta!
Final Performance at College: Rodger + Hammerstein’s Cinderella!
Recently I was apart Marymount Manhattan’s production of Rodger + Hammerstein’s Cinderella directed by Todd Buonopane and Choreographed by Brooke Engen. I could be seen as a member of the ensemble and in a featured dance role as the Raccoon. Clips can be found on my performance reel!
I Am Graduating!
In preparation for graduation, I've been prepping some of the performing basics. Including and not limited to filming self tapes, getting new headshots, and many more! Senior showcase is just around the corner!
